When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. The retention phase lasts for a minimum of 24 months. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you’ve put in so far. Remember to remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth.
You are given a special case for your retainers, please make sure you keep them in this case when not wearing them. To clean these retainers, brush them with cold water and toothpaste.
Always wear your retainers as instructed; remember to remove them when eating and brushing your teeth. Your retainers should also be removed when participating in sports that require a mouthguard or while swimming.
PLEASE NOTE: If you need to sterilize your retainers for any reason, do NOT put them in boiling water. In a glass, mix 50% water with 50% Clorox bleach. Soak the retainers for 20 minutes and then remove them and brush thoroughly before wearing.
